Monday was officially declared as "work day" on the boat. Dolby and I had been sitting here in the same anchorage for over a week- and the boat becomes a little too "comfortable" when you do that. To put a long story short, and to save you from having to hear the gory details, the boat needed a good cleaning up! So we did just that. After running in town and getting some groceries and water, the cleaning spree was on. Dolby took care of the outside, shining the stainless steel and cleaning the cockpit, while I attacked the inside. Holds were organized, dishes were cleaned, counters wiped down, floors were scrubbed. It was a much needed boat clean that was way overdue. But what a satisfying feeling it is when you accomplish these tasks!
-Dolby also took this time to fix the tiller that I had broken. Yes, I admit it, I did it. When we were leaving Royal Island a week ago, I fell off of my seat as I was adjusting it, and caught myself on the tiller... which proceeded to crack. OOPS! At the time Duck Tape fixed the issue (what doesn't duck tape fix?), but that wasn't a good long-term fix. Dolby had to put some screws in here and there, but in the end, the tiller is fixed, and is working better than ever. I secretly think that me cracking it was the best thing that ever happened to this device. It got a whole new makeover and is now even sitting the way it should be- which it wasn't before!

Cleaning, fixing, and other projects took almost the entire afternoon. Scott and Michelle made their way over for dinner around sunset, and we had the best time! It was so nice finally being the entertainer and having good friends over to spend time with. I made up some salad while Dolby made a delicious vodka pasta, and we just had a great time. The boys talked about fishing and boat "stuff" while Michelle and I just took in the time we had with another female. (Like I said, it's the small things) All in all, it was a very productive, fun, satisfying Monday.
We're prepping to finally make our way more south in the next few days. It's time to move on and do some more exploring. And as much as I love this place, I can't wait to see and fall in love with more!

what a life!
